How to Fix Telescoping on a Shade
Telescoping on a Roller Shade
A telescoping roller shade is a common problem that is easily solved with some masking tape. A roller shade is "telescoping" is when the shade rolls up unevenly and one side starts to resemble a telescope.
If your shade has this issue, unroll the shade completely down until you can see the bare metal tube. Place a small piece of tape at the opposite end from where the telescoping is happening. Roll the shade up and see if the telescoping has stopped. If it hasn't, keep adding additional pieces of masking tape until the telescoping has stopped.
